Burmese kids This picture is taken at the Burmese border, after talking to these children, refugees from Burma, at a school in Thailand. We asked them what they would like to see if we would make a kids news program for them: "We want news about democracy, health topics, music and about our friends that are still in Burma." Wow, they know exactly what they want! Okay, we'll try...

Will keep you updated on this site. Now my 2 week worktrip in Asia ends. Bye!

AWN Benefietdiner 2007
Een impressie van het AWN benefietdiner.
by Ole Chavannes, 10 december 2007

Launch party NAPA - Lima
The Peruvian Kids News program NAPA (short for 'not for adults') had it's official launch on October 9th in Lima, Peru. It was a great honour to attend in name of Free Voice's Kids News Network. Please watch NAPA online > napa.com.pe

Lima October 9 Wow, what a great time I had with the NAPA team, the people that make the kids news for and with Peruvian children. Here some pics, but check the broadcast online at NAPA.com.pe

New youth correspondants from NAPA interview all NAPA Launch party visitors

A famous Peruvian rapband performed on the party - and were interviewed...

Lima, October 5
The launch party of NAPA, the new kids news program in Peru, went great! Last night about 200 people (half of them children) came to the museum of Antropology to celebrate the birth of the tv and online program, that truly gives kids a voice. Of
course there were speeches from all the organisations that make this happen: Red TV, Plan Peru and Free Voice (me) and also the consul of the Dutch embassy came to congratulate us all.

After the official part, 5 new children that become part of the editorial team, presented themselves and got 4 T20 Cybershots (the coolest digital camera?s). I bought them tax free, with money that was collected by Dutch journalists that help this way the kids news in Indonesia and Peru last week (check freevoice.nl for that story).

Also, 26 children correspondents from 11 regions all over Peru, that have their first workshop in Lima this week, came to interview about everybody at the party. And than two really cool popular bands (one hiphop, one rock) played so loud, the 3000
year old Inca artefacts of the museum almost broke...

The atmosphere was very relaxed and so many children were so happy and excited! Thank you Red TV for organizing this extremely cool party. Please watch the new NAPA (which means 'Not for Adults' in Spanish, but if you are, you can watch it in secret..).
Hasta luego!
