One world, one KNN Sport team: with journalists and supporting management from Indonesia, Zambia, Peru, Netherlands, Surinam, Germany and China.

Beijing blog: August 8 2008 is a hot and very humid day in Beijing. The weather is the talk of town: is there going to be a storm at 8 o'clock, during the opening ceremony? Or will the lucky number 8 save the fire works, that are supposed to be the most beautiful ever?

Since a day or two it is very crowded in the streets - some foreign tourists and many Chinese from out of town, came to be part of the Olympic experience. Also all 20.000 international journalists arrived, including our KNN teams from Surinam and Zambia, who came yesterday, and Peru this morning.

The streets are cleaned, and almost every house put a Chinese flag out. At 3 o'clock all shops close, for a whole week - unique in the ever hard working China. Soldiers and policemen appear on every crossroad and all roads around the Olympic stadium are blocked for all traffic. The excitement is in the air.

The 4 KNN Sport teams are traveling all over town, to film and interview children about the opening. It is a chaotic production, with this crowded city, blocked roads and closed shops (to by phone card for example). We hope to make the deadlines for their programs and have some time to see if the fireworks are going to be as unforgettable as everybody hopes.
